Freebies for Saturday.

  • Free pill box
  • Jiffy mix recipe book I am a huge fan of this mix and it is sold all around here in the south. If you have not given any of their mixes a They are cheap and ingredients you have on hand. Their cornbread is sweet and goes great with field peas with tomatoes. Even their yellow cake mix and chocolate frosting mix is great. You can usually pick each box up for under .50. They even have buttermilk biscuit mix now. I haven't tried that one yet. You can also use the corn muffin mix to make corn dogs that are yummy!!!! I'll include that recipe at the bottom. Also their pie crust is great for when you need a quick pie crust. Just make and dump a can of fried apples in there. Bake and you have yourself a great pie. I have a picture of the last pie I did. It never makes enough for the top. So I just used a cookie cutter and cut out hearts. Then placed them on top of the pie for decoration. I have a picture on one of my discs somewhere. When I find it I will post it. Allow 2-4 wks.

Chili Cheese Bread
(12 Slices)
2 pkgs. "JIFFY" Pizza Crust Mix
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1/2 cup warm tomato juice
1/2 cup warm water
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
Preheat oven to 375°, grease loaf pan.
Combine ingredients together and let stand in bowl for approximately 10 minutes. Place on lightly floured surface and knead three times. Form a loaf, put into prepared pan and bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

1 box of jiffy corn dog mix

1 package of hot dogs

On greased cookie sheet lay your hot dogs down. Make the batter so it is still clumpy and not runny. Kind of dry. So use less liquid in it. You want it to cover the hot dogs...but, not run everywhere. Pour over the hot dogs and bake at normal temp. that is listed on box until corn muffin mix is cooked done. Then just take out and eat with a fork with some ketchup:) Really simple.

Also I am looking for vintage housewife or homemaker photos that are legal to re post. As the above pictures I always post are. Something old fashioned from 30's, 40's, 50's, and 60's. If anyone knows where I can find some pictures or clip art like that I would greatly appreciate it. I use to have a collection until my old computer crashed. I can not remember where I got them from. I just like using a picture in each post so those who come in for a quick glance can tell when something new is posted Vs. Just plain old text. Plus I love old fashioned things. I love collecting old antiques and I still watch the adventures of Ozzy and Harriet.
